Biography

Growing up in Silicon Valley, there is always immense pressure to perform. As for me, my ability to persevere has defined my performance. My academics and extracurriculars have always been something that I have to work at. Some of my hobbies include running, playing soccer, drawing, cooking, and baking; none of which I have immediately excelled in but rather have improved upon over the years. My determined attitude has constantly set me up for success, reflected through my hard work and dedication to each task.

Coming to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I knew that college would be difficult; however, it was my goal to join the Heath Integrated Business and Engineering program (HIBEP). I first heard about it when applying to colleges which immediately grabbed my attention. My dreams of partaking in engineering and business while also graduating in four years was finally attainable. The opportunity that the HIBEP presented was unbeatable– it allowed me to understand the workings of engineering while pursuing an education in the business. I have always wondered about the workings behind machines, ranging from the mechanics of car windows to the simple workings of a coffee machine. In addition to the opportunities of combining engineering and business, the program allows me to open a door with a network of people, ranging from my mentor to IBEP alumni. Overall, the HIBEP seemed like a beneficial program for my education and future.

Majoring in marketing, I am open to whatever the future may provide. I have no immediate plans though I hope that through HIBEP and my classes, I can discover what I want to do with my career. I am excited to learn more about the world of business and myself in the next few years. Born and raised in California, I know that there are hundreds of potential paths that I can take, but I hope to learn which one suits me best. My friends and family have always supported me through my decisions, which continues to motivate me throughout my life. Ultimately, I am excited to see what the future holds and hope to persevere through any challenges that may come my way.
