    Biography

My name is Matthew Malone, and I am a member of the 2026 Heath Integrated Business and Engineering (Heath IBEP) Cohort. I have a strong desire to expand my involvement on campus and diversify my skill set. While here on campus, I am actively pursuing leadership positions and participating in clubs to enhance my communication skills and foster a stronger sense of community. Additionally, I am exploring new hobbies like rock climbing and yoga. In all of these pursuits, my goal is to improve my personal capabilities and enhance my proficiency while collaborating with teams.

During my freshman year, I participated in the Venture Living Learning Community offered by UT, where I had the privilege of having two peer mentors. Both of these mentors were Heath IBEP members who introduced me to the program and explained its offerings. My primary motivation for joining Heath IBEP was the distinctive skills and teaching methods it offers. In particular, I was drawn to the critical thinking skills and the ability to succeed in cross-functional teams. In addition to the skills I'll acquire from collaborating with my cohort, I am paired with a professional mentor with whom I will have one-on-one meetings. Nurturing this professional relationship with a mentor, before many in my graduating class have such an opportunity, will give me a competitive edge as I embark on my professional journey.

During my undergraduate years, my plan is to secure an internship to further enhance my professional skills. While the idea of pursuing a master's in business analytics in the future appeals to me, the timing of when I'll pursue it after college is a decision I have not yet finalized. At this stage, I am not committed to any specific industry, but I aspire to work in an analytical role.
