Biography

The pursuit of knowledge and new experiences are two important components of who I am. I find that my desire to embrace new challenges has led me to many of my current successes. In my studies of the Japanese language and a recent trip to Japan, I learned the importance of embracing different perspectives and striving to learn newdisciplines. My ability to work well in teams and my natural tendency to solve problems has brought me recognition in and outside of the workplace and classroom. I pride myself on learning quickly and thoroughly communicating problems and solutions.I joined the Integrated Business and Engineering Program to gain diverse technical knowledge, meet other high-achieving peers, and utilize the opportunity to attend leadership seminars. I seek to embrace each of these opportunities by being very involved in the IBEP program and its committees. Since joining, I learned from individuals that are at the top of their respective industries. I developed further insight about myself and what it takes to be a successful employee and leader. Additionally, I gained the skills to utilize systems-thinking while working on real-world industry problems, which has allowed me to have a better understanding of how to make sound business decisions.Being that I am a Business Analytics major, I have an acute interest in database design, machine learning, forecasting, and data visualization. Along these lines, I challenge myself to become proficient in programming and cloud computing before graduation. Furthermore, I am interested in using business intelligence and robotic process automation to exploit data and, in turn, help businesses and people succeed. These interests lend me to see myself as a data scientist, data engineer, or software engineer in the future. Though I love the software development industry, I would also enjoy working with startups and small businesses.
