Biomedical Engineering
Biography
My name is Krisha Sajnani. I am a Biomedical Engineering major, minoring in Business Administration and Integrated Business and Engineering. Originally from India, I lived in Kuwait for five years before moving to the United States. After residing in Tennessee for a few years, my family and I moved to Harlan, a rural town in Southeastern Kentucky. Living in various places has broadened my worldview and allowed me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. This experience has provided me with a unique perspective on how each person’s story and experience is different and taught me the importance of understanding these diverse viewpoints.
Academics have always been a top priority in my life. I am hardworking, ambitious, and motivated—qualities that have helped me reach where I am today. Starting piano at a young age not only fostered my musical inclination but also helped me develop traits such as discipline, patience, resilience, and critical thinking. These crucial skills have guided me through difficult situations and driven my pursuit of a career in engineering. Being the first person in my family to pursue engineering has taught me the importance of commitment and determination.
I learned about Heath IBEP after arriving at the University of Tennessee, and my interest was instantly piqued. A career that combines both engineering and business aligns perfectly with my lifelong goals. The program's emphasis on real-world experience, networking, and mentorship are crucial elements for developing a career in these fields.
Over the next three years, I hope to gain internships and experiences that align directly with my career goals. Upon graduation from the University of Tennessee, I plan to start my career in biomedical engineering while simultaneously earning an MBA. Eventually, I aim to earn a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering as well. My ultimate professional goal is to establish my own startup. I believe that the skills and knowledge I will acquire over the next three years will be invaluable in achieving these ambitions.
