Biography
My name is Ella Webb, and I come from Maryville, TN. I am a member of the 2026 cohort in the Heath Integrated Business and Engineering Program (Heath IBEP), majoring in supply chain management with double minors in statistics and hospitality and tourism management. As I embarked on my freshman year, I had one clear goal in mind: to get involved and make a difference. In high school, I was highly engaged in sports, honors classes, and leadership council activities. I was determined to continue exploring a variety of interests in college. Currently, I am an active member of the Tennessee Association of Supply Chain (TASC) executive board, Scholars of Distinction, Women of Haslam, the UT Club tennis team, and I serve as a leader in Blount County YoungLife.
The decision to apply for Heath IBEP came after I was introduced to the program during my college visit. I was captivated by the opportunity to work with companies and gain real industry exposure in an immersive learning environment. Learning how to problem-solve alongside my peers was a chance I couldn't pass up. Business professionals and engineers are known for their distinct approaches, and I believe that gaining hands-on experience while also honing my communication skills is invaluable.
Understanding the "why" behind problems and witnessing the synergy between the two colleges' expertise is a unique position to be in as a college student. The cohort-designed program is unlike anything I've encountered before, providing students with opportunities for both personal and professional growth. I am enthusiastic about my future growth as a leader in the program, where I will explore innovative solutions to problems and collaborate with my peers to gain a more comprehensive perspective.
While I haven't made a final decision about my post-college career, I have participated in a few simulations and found production planning and supply chain positions particularly appealing. Additionally, I have a strong interest in working with data in an analytical role, whether it's in the realm of consumer insights or manufacturing insights.
