    Biography

My name is Zachary Bringle and I am a civil engineer and a member of the 2027 Cohort of the Heath Integrated Business and Engineering Program. I’ve had many hobbies growing up, the main being hiking, competing nationally in esports, and online channels I turned into businesses. I’ve learned to appreciate a lot of things from partaking in these hobbies with one of the main lessons being that positive outcomes and achievements are rarely attained without a substantial commitment of effort and perseverance. Through competing and going through seasons of winning and losing, I have learned to adapt and diagnose solutions in order to further myself and my passions.

The Heath IBEP program was a main factor in my application process, narrowing down my choices to the one and only Rocky Top. Being well-versed in both engineering and business is highly advantageous through allowing individuals to bridge the gap between technical and managerial roles. This dual expertise I have learned has allowed me to manage technical aspects of projects while still considering business implications such as cost management and strategic planning. My experience with this program has been highly enriching, giving me a distinct skill set that no one else has other than the people who put the same amount of work as me in this program.

My professional goals are to graduate with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree while serving multiple internships throughout my college career. I plan on working under a larger civil engineering firm and learning the ways of upper echelon management to step into their roles or leverage the knowledge I attained to launch and manage my own ventures. I plan on working with Urban Engineering through the winter semester and am deciding between multiple construction firms for the summer break in 2025. This work experience will help me with my tentative goals in managing a civil engineering firm as I want to build and create and further the industrialization of not only Knoxville, but my home state.
