Biography
My name is Thomas Greene. I’m a 19 year old sophomore that is currently living his dream. From the second I was born I was a vol. I did like everyone around me. I dressed in orange and watched every Tennessee game I could find. It was my dream to be a student at UT that guided me throughout my childhood and through high school. I was committed to working hard and making sure that when I look back on myself in the future, I would not be disappointed in myself. I can look back now and say this was certainly the case. Through this I learned my passion. I love numbers. I think in numbers, and they just make sense to me. For this reason, I am pursuing a degree in Finance.
One of the biggest challenges for me coming to college was making that decision. I love problem solving and the process that every engineer goes through to create, solve, and integrate. This made choosing business extremely difficult. However, the Heath IBEP program made this much easier. This program creates a bridge for me to pursue every aspect of my passion at the highest level. I greatly benefit from the mentorship aspect of this program because it gives me the chance to surround myself with people who know more than I do. In my experience that is the best place to be in order to grow. When I was in high school I was in a program that was all about servant leadership. This program put me in a mindset that I believe leads me to grow more and more everyday. This kind of leadership I clear within the structure of Heath IBEP and know I will continue to grow because of it. I hope to be a CFO one day for a company that is actively working to serve our global community and the wellbeing of our people.
