Supply Chain Management & Finance
Biography
My name is Soren Blasiole, and I am a supply chain management and finance major from Madison, Wisconsin. While applying to schools, the University of Tennessee stood out to me. When I came down for a tour, I absolutely loved the surrounding landscape, and Knoxville seemed vibrant and lively. Additionally, it was evident how much the students enjoyed their time here. This school isn’t just all fun, however, because the success of the graduates is proof of the high quality of academics. It is hard to beat a well-respected school with an amazing culture.
I consider myself a strong team player which I attribute to my time playing soccer. I have played since I was very young and continue to do so now through the club team here at UTK. Through soccer, I have learned the importance of communication and listening to others to complete mutual goals. I took these skills and applied them to everything I involved myself in—whether that be clubs, sports, or my family and friends.
Heath IBEP has been another way to apply these skills. When I first heard about the program, I was very intrigued. I have a large fascination with motorsports and cars in general; I love everything about them—from the inner workings of the machines to their sound and appearance. When initially choosing my major, I knew I didn’t want to fully dive into engineering but wanted to be knowledgeable in the field. Heath IBEP provided this perfect middle ground: staying in business while developing the engineering side of my brain, working with engineers on relevant projects, and receiving a plethora of other amazing benefits.
As of now, my interests are up in the air. While still interested in the automotive and motorsport industry, I’m exploring many options that come with supply chain management and finance. Another field that has caught my eye is logistics, which I’m keen on learning more about. Currently, I’m looking for various internship opportunities for this coming summer and am very excited for my sophomore year.
