Biography
My name is Natalie Eaves, and I am a sophomore aerospace engineering student from Greensboro, NC. As a member of the Heath Integrated Business and Engineering Program’s 2029 cohort, I have the privilege of collaborating with like-minded individuals and learning problem-solving skills through industry-related projects.
In high school, I was able to participate in numerous opportunities that have shaped me into the person I am today. As a dual-enrolled student, I had to quickly adapt to a new and changing environment, where I developed time-management, confidence, and communication skills. During this time, I also served as the captain of my softball team, which taught me how to be disciplined, resilient, and a leader within a team setting.
As I transitioned to college, I have implemented these skills and lessons into my everyday life, allowing me to succeed in my roles on campus, including being an Engage Peer Mentor for the engineering live and learn community, an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Engineering Fundamentals, and a Student Ambassador. Outside of academics, I love to travel as well as watch sports, specifically basketball and football.
I first learned about Heath IBEP during my initial visit to the University of Tennessee,
Knoxville. After taking two project management classes in high school, I knew coming into college that I was interested in the business and engineering disciplines. The more I learned about Heath IBEP and the amazing professional project-based curriculum, the more certain I became that this program was the perfect opportunity for me to grow as an individual. As I continue through this program, my goal is to become more comfortable with the uncomfortable and apply what I learn in order to be successful in the aerospace industry.
Looking ahead, I aim to pursue higher education, after which I intend to work as a project manager for an aeronautical engineering company. My long-term goal is to work on aviation projects related to the optimization and improvement of commercial airplanes.
