Business Analytics
Biography
My name is Lisbeth Munoz, and I am a business analytics major in the 2027 Cohort of the Heath Integrated Business and Engineering Program (Heath IBEP). Growing up, I always knew I had a passion for learning which pushed me to become the first family member to attend college. I have immense pride in being a first-generation student because it represents my personal achievements in my pursuit of education. As well as paving the way for future generations with my profound determination to succeed. During my first year at UT, I became involved in various organizations that align with my values and interests. Getting involved in my first year led me to run for positions to further improve my leadership skills. I am on the executive board of the Business Analytics Society, the Latino Business Student Association, and the Latin American Student Organization. While leading these organizations, I get the opportunity to meet a diverse set of people and lend a helping hand. This experience has allowed me to better develop my time management skills and given me a new sense of pride as a first-generation student.
I was first introduced to Heath IBEP when a representative from the program visited my class. I was immediately intrigued because it was unlike other programs I’d already heard about and offered to combine business and engineering fundamentals while providing valuable real-world experiences. I realized this interdisciplinary program would help me grow professionally by improving my problem-solving and systems-thinking skills while also offering mentorship. Now that I am part of the program, I’m excited to take full advantage of all the resources provided to grow professionally and gain experience with my fellow cohort members.
Currently, my professional goals involve pursuing an internship in an analytic role that will allow me to hone my skills. I am particularly interested in taking analytics roles in the IT and the Finance and Banking industries, where I can make an impact by helping companies make better strategic decisions. After graduating, I hope to take what I have learned through Heath IBEP to bring a versatile skill set and diverse experience to my future career.
