Biomedical Engineering
Biography
In a few words, I am dedicated, involved and passionate. I am a sister, mentor, teammate, student and friend. I have learned early on that failure only leads to success and have found that overcoming challenges is much more satisfying than being handed the answer. I believe that honest and genuine people contribute to improvement because their critiques and feedback lead to growth and new ideas. My top CliftonStrengths skills that I use everyday are: achiever, activator, communication, focus, and positivity. All of which have enabled me to become the enthusiastic and teachable go-getter that I am.
I have joined this program because I understand that there are many challenges with technologists understanding true business needs, and I plan to bridge the gap. I will also gain a real world understanding on the inner workings of contemporary organizations through the lenses of people that have come before me through the extensive mentorship program that is provided. Furthermore, I would like to improve upon my relationship building skills, my leadership skills, my active listening skills, and my ability to understand business more holistically. I truly feel that business people and engineers analyze situations from different angles. I want to understand how to use both perspectives and train my mind to see situations in a larger light. As this program focuses on viewing the world through a larger scope by combining skills of business minds and engineering principles, I know that I would obtain a new way of thinking.
Currently, I am interested in biomechanics, rehabilitation engineering, and bioinstrumentation for future career paths. I want to get experience with companies that will prepare me for positions in consultant, technician and training specialist roles through internships and research.
