Biography
Hello, my name is Cooper White. I am an accounting major at the Haslam College of Business and a member of the 2027 Heath Integrated Business Engineering Program cohort. I am originally from Gallatin, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville. I grew up playing every sport imaginable, most prominently swimming and football, the latter I played during my high school career. I have also been involved with the theater arts from a young age and ended up writing and directing my own show with a small team. In college, I have mostly left behind contact sports in favor of lifting weights and playing pickle ball. When I am not staying active, I am playing the piano or sharpening my chess skills. All of these hobbies are a reflection of my wide variety of interests, a key pillar to what makes IBEP such an important organization to my growth as a student.
I first heard about Heath IBEP before I was a student at the University of Tennessee. During that time, I was split between deciding to major in business or engineering, but hearing about this program was a weight off my shoulders in the deciding process. I ended up deciding to go down the business route with full intentions on applying to Heath IBEP. I believe business majors often lack the necessary perspective of working with a team in the engineering field. Not only this, but having real hands on experience working with and trying to solve problems within other businesses is one of the best ways to learn and become a successful future employee.
In the future I hope to graduate with an accounting degree and an MBA. Through internships and my time at IBEP, I hope to have a better grasp at what my long term professional goals will be. Working with finances in a large tech or industrial manufacturing industry has always caught my attention. Eventually, I hope to have my own company near Nashville.
