Biography
My name is CJ Haley, and I am from New Canaan, CT. I am majoring in finance and am a proud member of the 2029 Heath Integrated Business and Engineering Program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Three of my core strengths are my work ethic, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. I have always been a very passionate person. When I set a goal for myself, I will work relentlessly until I achieve it. Growing up my dad always told me, “hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” With this mindset, I always put forth my best effort in everything I do.
When I first heard about IBEP, I was immediately intrigued. I had taken engineering classes throughout high school and really enjoyed the problem-solving aspects of engineering. I ultimately chose to major in finance because I have always enjoyed working with numbers. When I learned about IBEP and discovered that I could combine my interests in finance and engineering, I was excited to pursue the opportunity. Beyond the unique combination of disciplines, IBEP provides valuable resources, experiences, and opportunities that will help me grow both personally and professionally.
Looking ahead, I am hoping to explore career opportunities within financial services and investment industries. I enjoy working with money and analyzing financial decisions. I am particularly interested in roles related to investment management, wealth management, and financial analysis, where I can develop my understanding of financial markets and help people make decisions. I am also interested in entrepreneurship and am open to trying to apply my financial knowledge to building and growing a business. While I am still exploring my long-term career path, my immediate goal is to gain professional experience and learn more about the areas of finance that best align with my interests, strengths, and goals.
