Supply Chain Management and Economics

Biography

My name is Cason Peebles, and I am an economics and supply chain management student from Nashville, Tennessee, with a growing interest in how organizations, people, and systems can work together to solve complex problems. My approach to leadership has been shaped by a lesson I learned long before I understood what leadership meant: success is not always about pulling harder or getting ahead of others. Sometimes, it is about recognizing the strengths of the people around you and helping everyone move forward together.

Growing up alongside my twin brother and younger sister taught me the importance of determination, empathy, and collaboration. Watching my special needs sister navigate challenges that most people never have to consider changed the way I think about achievement. I have always been driven to accomplish what I set my mind to, but I have learned that the most meaningful accomplishments are often those that help others succeed as well.

I have carried that perspective into my professional experiences. Over the past three years with the YMCA, I progressed from lifeguard to team lead to aquatics coordinator, where I have had the opportunity to lead teams, communicate across different levels of an organization, and manage situations where both people and operational details matter. These experiences have strengthened my interest in understanding how organizations function and how effective leadership and better processes can create stronger outcomes.

In my free time, I’ve carried on my hobby of running from high school cross country and track, where I served as a team captain. I still enjoy pushing myself in training and seeing what new milestones I can reach.

I joined the Heath Integrated Business and Engineering Program because I want to further hone my skills and interests. Through hands-on projects, executive mentorship, and exposure to real-world business challenges, I hope to better understand how organizations identify inefficiencies, make decisions, and turn ideas into results. I am especially excited to learn from professionals who have built their careers in the areas I am beginning to explore.

In the near future, I hope to explore opportunities in supply chain, operations, infrastructure, and economic strategy through internships or co-ops. Ultimately, I want to build a career where I can combine analytical problem-solving with the people-focused leadership I have developed throughout my life.
