Biography
My name is Marius Bryce Jardret, and I am a biomedical engineering student a part of the 2027 Cohort of the Heath Integrated Business and Engineering Program (IBEP). I grew up playing a lot of sports and took them seriously from a young age. At some point I decided that I wanted to play college basketball, but I knew that I had a lot of work to do to get there because I was not the most athletically gifted. I practiced and researched everything I could on how to be the best athlete possible. Unfortunately, though, I did not end up playing basketball in college, but the work ethic, determination, and knowledge that came out of the pursuit of the goal have shaped me to succeed in a multitude of other areas outside of athletics.
When I heard about the Heath IBEP program, I realized that it represented a lot of the things that I wanted to pursue in my career. From learning the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in multiple fields, to working on real world projects with skilled teammates, I was more than excited to get the opportunity to join the program. My limited experience in the program has already taught me better ways to go about leading and being a part of a team, how to communicate with others when it matters, and the steps to effectively complete a project.
My immediate professional goals are to graduate with a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering and, in addition, start getting experience with different types of internships. Currently, with my continuing passion for athletics, my tentative interests lie in fields such as biomechanics and using engineering concepts to solve problems related to human movement, potentially as applied to sports. Long term, my interest in leading projects and teams inclines me to want to fulfill a managing position or start my own business one day.
