Biography
To quote Steve Jobs, "Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you, and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use." I used this quote in my high school graduation speech because it embodies a belief that has shaped my outlook on life: the idea that we have the power to create, influence, and make an impact on the world around us. This mindset has driven me to pursue opportunities where I can bring ideas to life, challenge the status quo, and build things that matter.
My name is Braden, and I am a Computer Engineering student in the Tickle College of Engineering. I am a versatile and driven individual with a passion for innovation and problem-solving. My strengths lie in my ability to adapt to different challenges and environments, bringing creativity and critical thinking to everything I do. Over the years, I’ve developed a broad skill set that spans across various disciplines, including technology, leadership, and strategic thinking. While in high school, I ventured into entrepreneurship with a sneaker resale business and another business focused on 3D printing. During my junior and senior years, I completed an associate degree in business. This dual experience of entrepreneurship and formal education greatly enriched my perspective. This broader understanding has been instrumental in my personal and professional growth, instilling in me the values of perseverance, collaboration, and continuous learning.
I joined the Heath Integrated Engineering and Business Program (HIBEP) to deepen my knowledge in both the technical aspects of engineering and the strategic facets of business. HIBEP provides a unique opportunity to gain a well-rounded understanding of how technological advancements and business strategies intersect, preparing me to make a meaningful impact in a variety of industries. The program’s focus on leadership, mentorship, innovation, and collaboration aligns perfectly with my ambition to be a versatile professional who can thrive in diverse environments.
Looking ahead, I am particularly interested in industries at the forefront of innovation, such as consumer technology, emphasizing tech and the automotive industry. These fields offer opportunities to engage in meaningful work that drives progress and improves lives. I am drawn to positions where I can combine my understanding of technology and business, such as product management, consulting, project management, or software engineering. These roles would allow me to leverage my skills and experience to lead initiatives, solve complex problems, and contribute to the success of organizations in dynamic and impactful ways.
