Computer Science

    Biography

Hello, my name is Addy Holton, and I am studying computer science with a minor in cybersecurity at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Originally from Billings, MT, I am thrilled to be part of the 2028 Heath Integrated Business and Engineering Program cohort! In addition to this program, I am an active member of the Sigma Kappa Alpha Delta chapter, where I held the position of Bid Day Chair during the 2024-2025 term.

My top five CliftonStrengths are positivity, WOO, empathy, developer, and includer. I strive to incorporate these strengths into my daily life, which has helped me build strong and lasting relationships, become a better leader, and work efficiently in team environments. Since moving thousands of miles away from home, I have developed valuable skills such as problem-solving techniques, networking and communication strategies, and adaptability. These abilities have been instrumental in my collegiate journey so far, and I plan to continue applying them across various areas of my life—including this program, my major, and my future career.

I chose to join Heath IBEP to challenge myself by gaining exposure to the business world while understanding how finance, management, and entrepreneurship intersect with engineering principles. This program is designed to help students like me explore the connections between engineering fundamentals and business strategies. I believe it will support both my academic and professional growth as I prepare to become the best version of myself. Business has always been an area of interest for me, and this program offers a unique opportunity to integrate it into my major and career path.

My current professional goal is to become a software engineer or developer. I am particularly interested in working within industries such as automotive, wake boat manufacturing, medical technology, or aviation. While I am excited to see where my career takes me, my ultimate aspiration is to make a meaningful impact in the technological world—helping people grow alongside advancements in technology.
