    Biography

American Scholar Warren Bennis once said, " leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality." Such is the goal that I wish to achieve. Since childhood, I have always strived to claim a leadership position to ensure that not only my own but my peers' visions of more opportunity and progress come to fruition. I was able to become an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, spending a multitude of hours leading young men with the intent of bettering my community. At the same time, I ranked top three in my academic class and served as a member of the National Honors Society. Now at the University of Tennessee, I continue to lead my peers on the executive board for both the UT chapters of Brothers United for Excellence and the National Society of Black Engineers. I am also determined to hone my leadership capabilities by being a member of the Honors Leadership program, which allows me to study the works of significant leaders in history and improve my process of motivating others. Moreover, I serve as a peer mentor for the UT Success Academy, a four-year program created and led by Aaron Dixon, driven to maximize first-year African American and Latinx men's transition to college life and the Volunteer community. In the future, I plan to utilize my leadership abilities in the aerospace industry by owning a business and providing opportunities to bright minds. One obstacle that I had to overcome to achieve this, however, was a way to integrate my passion for aerospace engineering with my desire for ownership and entrepreneurship. This was until I came across HIBEP. During my previous year, one of my Engineering Physics TAs mentioned how they were in a program that allowed them to see the interconnections between business and engineering and learn the strategies needed to excel in both subjects. Immediately, I was intrigued, and after researching it more, I applied for the program and was accepted. Now a member of the 2025 Cohort of the Heath Integrated Business and Engineering Program, I am determined to learn as much as I can so that I may be prepared to run my own aerospace engineering company and lead my community into the stars.
